NASHP’s Healthy Child Development State Resource Center features a resource highlighting the important role that screening, referral, and care coordination plays in healthy child development each month. In June, NASHP features its updated developmental screening measures map, which tracks voluntary state reporting of the developmental screening measure for children enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in the CHIPRA Core Set of Children’s Health Care Quality Measures.
In the most recent reporting year (2016), 26 states reported the developmental screening measure, compared to only two in 2010. With more than 25 states reporting the measure for the first time, state data are available from CMS.
